Begging woman donates Rs 1 lakh to Jagannath temple

An emotional incident has come to light in Odisha. A 60-year-old woman here donated the money she had deposited by begging to build a Jagannath temple. Tula Bahra, 60, who donated, said during this time that she has surrendered her life to Jagannath, so she is giving money. Even after the temple administration refused, she did not agree. Eventually, the temple administration had to take donations.

Tula Bahra has donated to the Phulbani Jagannath Temple Management Committee. She said during this time that she is living the last day of her life, so what will she do with this money. That’s why i donated money. He further said that he does not need any money, he has surrendered himself to Lord Jagannath. She had been begging outside the same Jagannath temple in Phulbani in Kandhamal district for the past two decades.

Tula Bahra hails from Cuttack in Odisha. She came to live in Phulbani after the death of her husband Prafulla Behera. Due to lack of money, he started begging. She used to put the money received in the post office account to save it. He was then told by the officials that his savings exceeded Rs 1 lakh. After this, he donated the entire money of his savings to the temple.
