New Delhi, ANI. Prime Minister Narendra Modi today inaugurated the ‘International Lawyers Conference 2023’ at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi. On this occasion, the Prime Minister also addressed the public.
According to an official statement, the International Lawyers Conference 2023 is being organised on the theme ‘Emerging Challenges in the Justice Delivery System’ on September 23 and 24. It is organised by the Bar Council of India.
At the International Lawyers Conference, PM Modi said, ‘The International Lawyers Conference has become a symbol of India’s spirit of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam. The legal fraternity plays a huge role in the building of any country. The judiciary in India has been the guardian of India’s judicial system for years.
The legal fraternity played a huge role in the freedom struggle
PM Modi said from Vigyan Bhawan in Delhi, ‘Recently 75 years of India’s independence were completed. The legal fraternity played a huge role in the freedom struggle. Many lawyers left their practice to join the independence movement. India’s independent judiciary plays a major role in why the world trusts India today.
Mentioned about women’s reservation
PM Modi said that today this conference is taking place at a time when India has become witness to many historic decisions. Just a day before, the Parliament of India has passed a law to give 33% reservation to women in Lok Sabha and Assemblies. He further said that the experience of legal professionals has served to strengthen the foundation of independent India. Today, the world’s trust in India is increasing and India’s judicial system has a big role to play in it.
India became the first country in the world to do so
PM Modi said that just a few days ago, in the historic event of G20, the world saw a glimpse of our democracy, demography and our diplomacy. A month ago, on this day, India had become the first country in the world to reach near the south pole of the Moon.
PM Modi further said that be it cyber terrorism, money laundering, artificial intelligence, creating a global framework for cooperation on various issues is not just a matter related to any regime or government. For this, the legal framework of different countries will also have to be connected to each other.
