Gehlot govt to hire drones to farmers for spraying

Published on

In Rajasthan, the Gehlot government will give drones on rent to farmers for monitoring other crops, including spraying chemicals in the fields. For this, the government will make 1500 drones available at custom hiring centers in the next 2 years. A grant of up to Rs 6,000 per hectare will also be given to drone manufacturing companies to make farmers aware of the usefulness of drones and to give live demos in their fields. Not only this, the state government will also give a subsidy of up to 40 percent on the cost of making drones, so that drones can be made available to farmers at cheaper rates.

Speaking at a live demonstration of state-level drone technology organised by the Agriculture Department at Joshiwas village in Jobner, Jaipur, Agriculture Minister Lalchand Kataria said that drones will be rented out to farmers of the state who are unable to buy expensive agricultural equipment due to limited income. With this, farmers will be able to spray chemicals in their fields at low cost and in less time.

In order to promote the use of drone technology in agriculture, the state government has organized this live demonstration in all 33 districts. In every district of the state, a total of 20 hectarearea has been sprayed by drone demonstrations and chemicals have been sprayed. Under this, drones are being used to promote the use of nano urea, which will meet the shortage of urea.
