Chinese gymnast Zhou Yaqin, who won hearts around the globe with her silver medal at the Paris Olympics and her charming medal-biting moment, is making headlines again for her genuine personality. The 18-year-old star has stepped away from the Olympic spotlight to help out at her family’s restaurant.

Shortly after her impressive return from the Games, Yaqin was seen assisting at her parents’ eatery. Videos of her serving customers and aiding with restaurant tasks quickly went viral, further increasing her admiration and respect.

In one popular video, Yaqin is shown in her Olympic uniform serving food to customers at the family restaurant on Furong Road in the Nanyue District of Hengyang City, Hunan Province. Her willingness to support her family highlights her commitment beyond her athletic achievements.

Social media users praised the young athlete for her humility and grounded nature:

“Hard work and feet on the ground.”

“Her family and community must be proud.”

“That’s incredible. She’s so humble. I see a lot of kids helping their parents/family each summer in the Chinese restaurants where I go eating, I love this attitude.”

“She’s a great gymnast and also a good daughter too. What a nice person!”

“She’s really winning our hearts on and off the podium.”

Yaqin secured a silver medal in the women’s balance beam competition in Paris.
