New Delhi: Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday distanced himself from Congress leader Digvijaya Singh’s statement seeking proof of the surgical strikes. Rahul Gandhi said that the bravery of the army has never been questioned. If the army does something, there is no need for evidence on it. This is Digvijayji’s personal opinion. I don’t agree with that.

Rahul Gandhi said that as far as Digvijay ji’s statement is concerned. We completely disagree with what he said on the surgical strike. We have full faith in our army. If the army does something, there is no need to give evidence. “I completely disagree with Digvijaya Singh’s statement. Personally, I believe that whatever Digvijayji said is his personal opinion. The Congress party also does not agree with this.

Here, during the Bharat Jodo Yatra in Jammu on Tuesday, congress leader Digvijay Singh was asked questions by colleague Jairam Ramesh on the media. The media was questioning Digvijaya singh’s statement on the surgical strike. Meanwhile, Jairam Ramesh came and said- Enough is enough. You guys let us go. We have answered all the questions. You go and ask the Prime Minister questions.

Let me tell you that Digvijay Singh had said during the Bharat Jodo Yatra that the government never gave evidence of surgical strikes. When the controversy escalated, he later clarified that we respect the Indian Army and it is above all for us.
