Major action has been taken in the Kanjhawala case of Delhi. In this case, 11 policemen on duty on the route where this incident took place have been suspended on charges of negligence. A total of 11 police personnel from Rohini district who were posted at PCR and pickets have been suspended as approved by the competent authority, the Delhi Police said. In this case, action has been taken against 2 sub-inspectors, 4 assistant sub-inspectors, 4 head constables and 1 constable.
Of the suspended policemen, six were on PCR duty and five were posted at pickets. Earlier, the Ministry of Home Affairs had on Thursday directed the Delhi Police to suspend all personnel on duty in three PCR vans and two pickets in the Kanjhawala case. According to officials, the Home Ministry has also directed the Delhi Police to issue show cause notices to the supervising officers of PCR vans, check posts for failing in their duty.
This action has been taken against the policemen after the report of the inquiry committee formed in this case. Officials have said that disciplinary action will also be taken against the policemen on duty that night. The Home Ministry has also directed the Delhi Police to file a charge sheet in the case at the earliest so that the culprits can be punished at the earliest. The Delhi Police has also been asked to ensure that there is no laxity in the investigation and submit a fortnightly report to the Home Ministry on the progress of the investigation.
