The 7th Foundation Day of CPL Diagnostics Pvt. Ltd., a forerunner in laboratory diagnostics, was celebrated with much fanfare on Sunday, August 18th, 2024, at the Utsav Mancha Auditorium in Kankurgachi, Kolkata. It is indeed a turning point in the company’s journey, reflecting its doctrine of excellence in healthcare with an eclectic mix of scientific sessions and vibrant cultural performances.
The “Marking Milestones of Excellence” program was inaugurated at 2:30 PM with a scintillating cultural dance performance by Ms. Deeksha Gupta, which set the very tone of celebrations for the day. Dr Tarun Roy, MD, DNB, Consultant Pathologist, CPL Diagnostics Pvt. Ltd. welcomed the audience, including doctors and business associates, as he went down memory lane on the company’s seven-year journey and its achievements.
After the welcome address, Dr M.M. Ghatak, MD, Founder and Director of the Medical Rehabilitation Centre, Kolkata, delivered the keynote speech. He praised CPL Diagnostics for its contribution to the health sector, mainly diagnostic services, and called for maintaining high standards in the industry.
Dr. Koushik Ray, PhD (Marketing), Founder & Director of CPL Diagnostics Pvt. Ltd., updated the audience about the company’s achievements and its future goals by reiterating the mission of CPL Diagnostics: ‘one million precise, real-time diagnostic reports in 2024’, while projecting a vision to lead this industry by integration with advanced technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Robotics etc.
The following scientific sessions were quite informative and interesting. Dr Anupam Basu, Professor of Molecular Biology and Human Genetics Laboratory, Burdwan University, and Former Visiting Fellow of the Department of Bioinformatics, Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore, and Postdoctoral fellow of the Department of Cell Biology and Physiology, School of Medicine, University of New Mexico, USA, a leading scientist, delivered his lecture on the hemoglobinopathy and Next-Generation Sequencing.
Besides the scientific deliberations, a cultural function, “Rituranga,” was conceptualised as an amalgamation of music and dance items that celebrated the mosaic of richness and diversity in Indian culture. Indeed, this provided a perfect counterbalance to the scientific rigour of the day and once more reiterated CPL Diagnostics’ commitment to scientific excellence and community engagement in equal measure.
