There has been an uproar in the Assembly after the death of many people due to poisonous liquor in Chhapra district of Bihar. On Friday, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar gave a speech in the assembly session. Nitish Kumar said that the government will not give compensation for the death due to drinking alcohol in Bihar. He said that if someone drinks alcohol and drinks a mess, he will die. If someone dies after drinking, then there should be no mercy towards him. People should not drink alcohol.

The death toll in bihar’s poisonous liquor scandal has reached 60 in many districts including Chhapra on Friday. Chhapra Sho Ritesh Mishra and constable Vikesh Tiwari have been suspended on Thursday in connection with the spurious liquor scandal.

Meanwhile, BJP MP Sushil Modi on Thursday demanded an apology from Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for his remarks. Sushil Modi said that there was no decency in Nitish Kumar’s behavior in the Assembly. The CM should apologise for his statement.

Sushil Modi said that in the last 6 years, more than 1,000 people have died in Bihar due to poisonous liquor. “The way Nitish Kumar behaved in the Assembly is not decency, he should apologise.

Bihar’s Leader of Opposition Vijay Kumar Sinha on Thursday accused the state government of hiding the actual number of deaths in Chhapra by burning dead bodies without any postmortem.
In April 2016, Nitish Kumar imposed a complete ban on the sale and consumption of liquor in Bihar.
