The Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs has launched the ‘My Life, My Clean City’ programme for waste management. Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri launched the campaign on May 15. Under this, a campaign will be run throughout the city by adopting triple R-reduce, reuse and recycle. Under the campaign, people’s non-essential items like old clothes, shoes, books, toys, plastic items and electronic items will be taken away, so that they can be recycled and the city will be made garbage-free. This campaign will be run till June 5 i.e. World Environment Day.

Let us tell you that Prime Minister Narendra Modi proposed Mission LiFE at COP-26 in 2020, which envisioned working individually and collectively to protect and conserve the environment. Mission Life Pro strengthens the spirit of Planet People. In the fight against climate change, the aim is to bring about behavioural change at a pro-planet level, which can be incorporated into daily lifestyles through individual action.

It is being told that the three-week campaign will strengthen the resolve of Swachh Bharat Mission-Urban 2.0 to reduce, reuse and recycle waste.
