New Delhi: The CBI has issued a notice to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for questioning in connection with a liquor policy case. According to the information, Kejriwal has been called to the CBI office at 11 am on April 16. This claim is being made in media reports quoting sources associated with the Aam Aadmi Party.
After receiving the notice, Aam Aadmi Party MP Sanjay Singh said in a press conference, ‘The central government is conspiring to put Arvind Kejriwal in jail, but we are not going to be afraid. Kejriwal fought against corruption by fasting for 13 days. Mr Prime Minister, it is necessary to tell the country the scam of lakhs of crores of rupees that you have done with your friend. Sanjay Singh said that an attempt has been made to threaten Arvind Kejriwal by issuing a notice after his statement in the Delhi Assembly. This does not deter Kejriwal or any of his leaders.
Let us tell you that former Deputy CM of Delhi Manish Sisodia is in the custody of ED in this case. Sisodia was arrested by the CBI on February 26 after eight hours of questioning. Sisodia was sent to 14-day judicial custody by the court on March 6 after a seven-day CBI remand.
Former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia was questioned by the ED in connection with a money laundering case related to the liquor policy case. Manish Sisodia is currently in ED custody. In the last hearing, the court had extended the custody of Manish Sisodia till April 17. Sisodia’s bail hearing will be held on April 18.
