Case of women wrestlers reaches Supreme Court, notice issued to Delhi Police

The protest by women wrestlers at Jantar Mantar in the capital Delhi continues for the third day on Tuesday. The wrestlers have approached the Supreme Court for the FIR, which has been accepted. The Supreme Court has agreed to hear the petition of 7 women wrestlers. The court will hear the matter on Friday.

On the complaint of women wrestlers, the Supreme Court said that the wrestlers have made serious allegations of sexual harassment in the petition. These need to be considered. CJI DY Chandrachud has also issued a notice to the Delhi Police for not registering an FIR against Wrestling Federation of India President and BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh till now.

The Supreme Court asked to remove the names of 7 women complainants from the judicial records, so that their identity would not be revealed. Let us tell you that 7 women wrestlers had filed a petition on Monday for registering an FIR against BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh.
