The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday filed a complaint with the Election Commission against Congress president Sonia Gandhi. The complaint was filed following a tweet by Sonia Gandhi on her social media handle after a rally in Karnataka’s Hubli on May 6. Actually, Sonia Gandhi held a rally here.
After the rally, the Congress party tweeted on its social media handle and wrote – Strong message from Congress Parliamentary Party Chairperson Sonia Gandhi to 6.5 crore People of Karnataka. Congress will never allow the credibility, sovereignty and integrity of Karnataka to be compromised.
Based on this, BJP leaders and Union Ministers Bhupender Yadav, Jitendra Singh and party leader Anil Baluni met the Election Commission and demanded action against Sonia Gandhi.
BJP leaders say that the sovereign is a nation, not a state. Sonia Gandhi has insulted the Constitution of the country by speaking about sovereignty. “We have sought a direction from the Election Commission to register an FIR against him. Sonia Gandhi should publicly apologise to the nation.
