 THE ARMY Aviation’s modernisation plan is critical and comes at the right time in the wake of its Chetak, Cheetah  line nearing completion of their total specialized life and a number of  copter crashes in recent times.  On the planned inductions of other  copters, the functionary said while one squadron of the Light Combat copters for the Army has  formerly been raised, the delivery of the rest of the  copters is anticipated to start in 18- 20 months. The Army is looking to  land 90 LCH, which will have the same armament  element as the Advanced Light Helicopter( ALH)- WSI called Rudra. The Army is also preparing to  inaugurate six Apache attack  copters from the US beforehand coming time onwards under a February 2020 deal.
