General Pandey also said that India’s commitment towards positively engaging all stakeholders in the region has been unwavering and enduring.  He further said, India’s approach to the Indo-Pacific emphasises peaceful resolution of disputes, avoidance of use of force and adherence to international laws.

 The Army Chief said that although the efforts of various countries are moving towards a free Indo-Pacific, we are still seeing the manifestation of inter-state disputes and competitions.  The Army Chief further said that “the challenges we face transcend borders and our response to them must include all this.”

Emphasising the importance of Indo-Pacific, General Pandey said that the region is not just a collection of nations but is a web of interdependencies.  “Our goal is to build trust and strengthen cooperation,” he added.
