Farming in India is gradually taking a modern form.  Now fields are monitored with drones and many modern machines are used in the fields.  The Governor of Arunachal Pradesh stressed on increasing agriculture and horticulture production, monitoring progress in infrastructure development including roads and using satellite data to observe areas prone to landslides and floods.

India is an agricultural country.  In modern times, India has changed its traditional farming methods to a great extent.  Through modern technology, farming work can now be done in a jiffy.  Farmers are also now doing farming easily by adopting new agricultural equipment.

Along with the Central Government, the State Government is also fully supporting all the farmers.  Union Minister of Earth Sciences Kiren Rijiju on Saturday met Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lieutenant KT Paranaik (Retd) at Raj Bhavan in Itanagar on how to increase production in agriculture.  This information was given in the official statement.

Both discussed developmental initiatives through application of latest achievements in science and technology.

Emphasis given on using satellite data

The Governor stressed on using satellite data to increase agriculture and horticulture production, monitor progress in infrastructure development including roads and inspect areas prone to landslides and floods.

The Governor has requested the Union Earth Sciences Minister to assist and facilitate in providing real time data to the State Government.

The Governor said that many places in the state are often affected by heavy rains, storms, cyclonic winds, hailstorms, cloud bursts and floods.  The Governor further suggested to the Union Earth Sciences Minister an observation center in the State to share Earth System Science information and technologies for the socio-economic benefit of the society.

Governor made several requests to the Union Minister

The Governor has also suggested carrying out geophysical exploration to provide important new information regarding subsurface geology and mineral reserves in the state.  The Union Minister looked very positive and ready to fulfill all the requests given by the Governor at the earliest and provide necessary assistance to the state.
