Two hotels will be demolished on Tuesday in Uttarakhand’s Joshimath. After cracks in the houses here, the expert team has decided to demolish the big hotels. The first of the luxury Hotel Mallari Inn and Hotel Mount View will be demolished. Both are 5-6 storey hotels. The teams reached the spot on Tuesday morning with bulldozers.

The demolition of these hotels will be done under the supervision of the Central Building Resources Institute (CBRI). The SDRF team is also present on the spot. Swami Avimukteshwaranand had appealed to the Supreme Court for urgent hearing on this matter, but the court refused to hear it immediately. The matter will now come up for hearing on January 16.

The SDRF says it has decided to demolish Hotel Malari Inn on Tuesday. First of all, its upper part will be dropped. These two hotels have come very close to each other. There are houses around them, so it is necessary to demolish them. The SDRF says hotels will collapse further. SDRF has been deployed at the spot. People are being asked to go to safer places with loudspeakers.

On the other hand, the Uttarakhand government has decided to divide Joshimath into three zones. These zones will be danger, buffer and safe zones. There will be houses in the danger zone which are more dilapidated and not habitable. Such houses will be demolished manually, while in the safe zone there will be houses that have light cracks and are less likely to be broken. The buffer zone will have houses that have mild cracks, but there is a risk of cracks growing. At the same time, a team of experts has recommended the demolition of cracked houses.

Uttarakhand’s power producer NTPC has said that the Tapovan Vishnugarh project has nothing to do with the landslide in Joshimath. Let us tell you that a hydro project of NTPC is also being considered responsible for joshimath landslide. Locals say that the tunnel was dug for ntpc’s hydro project, due to which the city is collapsing. Ntpc has denied all these things.
