According to an analyst report from Antique Stock Broking, major telecom companies such as Airtel and Jio are expected to increase their tariff rates after the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. The report mentions that the telecom industry could see a price hike of 15 to 17 percent following the general election. Specifically, Bharti Airtel is predicted to benefit the most from this tariff increase, with its ARPU projected to rise from ₹208 to ₹286 by the end of FY 27.

Antique Stock Broking anticipates Bharti Airtel’s revenue to grow at twice the industry average over the next three years due to tariff hikes, 2G upgrades, expansion of enterprise and Fiber to Home network, and reduced capital expenditure after the 5G rollout. The brokerage forecasts a significant decrease in capital spending post the 5G rollout, leading to a positive shift in the telecom sector.

Despite facing challenges with its 5G rollout strategy compared to competitors, Bharti Airtel is not expected to see a significant impact on its subscriber base or growth, according to Antique Stock Broking. The report also highlights the market share gains of Airtel and Jio at the expense of Vodafone Idea and BSNL in the last 5.5 years, with Jio experiencing the most significant increase in market share during that period.
