The government plans to issue a notice to Google regarding its AI response to a query about PM Modi

The government is set to send a notice to Google regarding questionable and unlawful responses generated by its AI platform Gemini concerning Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The move highlights the ongoing conflict between legislators and technology companies regarding the future of safe harbor protections for AI platforms like Gemini and ChatGPT.

Google has faced criticism for inaccurate historical image depictions by its Gemini AI tool, and now its responses about PM Modi have prompted the government to take action.

The IT Ministry is relying on IT Rules that require platforms like Google to ensure they don’t host blatantly false information.

If Google’s responses are found unsatisfactory, they may face prosecution for violating these rules.
