A horrific road accident took place on Nashik-Shirdi highway on Friday morning. A bus full of Sai devotees going to Shirdi darshan here collided with a truck. In this accident, 10 devotees died, while many passengers were also reported injured. The accident took place near Pathre on Shirdi highway.
According to the information, there were about 45 to 50 passengers in the bus. All of them were residents of Ambernath in Mumbai. The 10 passengers who died include 7 women and 3 men. As soon as the accident was reported, the police team reached the spot and admitted the injured to Saibaba Hospital. According to doctors, the condition of some of the injured is still critical. However, the deceased are yet to be identified.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has expressed grief over the death of people in a bus accident on Nashik-Shirdi highway. Cm Shinde has announced financial assistance of Rs 5 lakh to the families of the deceased. The CM has also ordered the concerned officials to investigate the incident.
Let us tell you that on January 9, there was a road accident in Maharashtra. At least 14 people were injured, six of them seriously, when a minibus carrying tourists overturned in Nashik district. The accident took place around 2 pm on the Trimbakeshwar-Nashik road when a group of tourists were returning to their hotel after visiting the Brahmagiri mountain range.
